Metabolism
I’ve been 190lbs most of my adult life. Over those years, I’ve always heard about what a great metabolism I must have. There is no doubt I did have a great metabolism in my younger years, but I’ll be 60 years old in a few days and just two weeks ago I once again heard that “it must be great to have a fast metabolism….”
I have consistently worked out most of life, basketball until my knees couldn’t anymore, combat sports for several years, until my schedule wouldn’t allow it, miles of running until my ankle couldn’t anymore, now it’s just cardio machines which frankly is boring, and I don’t like.
Through all those years I have always lifted weights. I’ve always eaten pretty well, not perfect, plenty of cheating here and there, but mostly health, clean and basic. Meat, veggies and healthy carbs.
It is never too late to shed some weight and change your diet, and for those who do that the benefits are tremendously rewarding. I’ve seen plenty of my friends make changes, and the gift in return is feeling so much better every day.
I don’t say much in the world about my health unless someone asked me directly, so I thought I would share it here.
Be discipled, your family will thank you.
