Getting the right people
My company just did its second annual kickoff meeting last week. We brought every employee into Seattle for two days of work sessions, plus a large company party which included customers partners and vendors. With many of our team working remote, these sessions are essential to building a good team repour. Our company has some of the very best talents in our industry, they inspire confidence both internally as well as to our customers.
When we hire people, their abilities are what gets them to the interview, but it is there character that gets them hired. We are all about the team, the bigger mission and providing the best customer experience possible. Talent matters, but one bad apple can spoil the basket. When I talk to potential employee’s this is the first message I tell anyone who wants to join our team.
Everyone is important, customers, vendors, competitors and our own teammates. There is no time to deal with politics in a startup, and I am proud of our team, they understand the mission and everyone is willing to help their teammates when there is a need.
Let’s build something meaningful!
